WHY SCHOOLS FAIL

It is on records that 95% of businesses fail in the first five yeas and another 4% fail in the next five years. In other words, 99% of businesses fail within 10 years of existence.

‘’The school business is getting ever competitive by the day and the basis of the competition is to make: Students, Parents, School consultants, Stationary suppliers and the government really enjoy from the struggle of the school owners’’.

When Schools fail it means that the schools are not able to meet up with the demand of operational efficiency and does not necessarily have to be their inability to make profit, revenue and generate cash flow.
The chances of schools failing are higher than an average business failing because of competition. This mad competition as we call it will push many schools down the drain, causing forceful closures or failure and this will make schools fail.
The school business is not as simplified as it were decades ago. Owning a school with an average building, nice  school uniform are now obsolete and cannot stand the test of time as to having competitive advantage. Therefore many of the schools fail because, the school owners refuse to:

1.     Set A Structural Condition: in which an organization operates. This is because most of the school owners are trained teachers and not business managers. Therefore, they build their structures on teaching methods instead of strategies. Setting a structural condition implies the capacity to maintain order, because maintaining orders is the function of a manager. And the few that try to maintain orders are so rigid, that they have refuse to change from the mundane obsolete thinking and hence cannot meet the advances in the competitive show down.
These are schools without organizational structure and culture. There are no philosophies laid to champion the operation of the school. In these schools, anything goes. They just fire-fight every challenge and live for survival.
To be failure proof, you must create systems, culture and structure. And if you can’t, call on www.edupreneurng.blogspot.com/home to get it done for you!
2.
             Organizational Resources and Capacity Re-Engineering:
They refuse to adapt to modern innovative changes and strategic mindset using different constructionist approach.
School fails when the schools have not method approach to solving their problems. There must be board room strategies to meet the challenges of the school business. School fail when there are no boards, no business plan to give direction and command to the existence of the school

3. Unprepared and un-teachable: many small school owners today caught the entrepreneur seizure. They are unprepared to be business owners and leaders. Though they have built a pedigree as good teachers, they have not undergone any formal training (theoretical or otherwise) to see the business in the school. This school failure is better referred to as poor planning.

Business and schools fail because of these above stated reasons and more. Meeting up operational efficiency implies that schools must have appraisal mechanism to assess and evaluate the efficiency of school works, teachers’ capacity and proficiency.
Its never an easy task, but its always worth it
