I have
always loved the idea of being an entrepreneur. While many dread the idea of
leaving their secured jobs into an unknown territory of self-employment and
owing businesses, the reverse has been the case for me. I have also wanted to
owe my own companies. This is because I realized quite early in life, the
surest root to self-sufficiency is to own a business.
In the
beginning, I started out in a partnership with a friend but I got my fingers
burnt so badly. The scars on my fingers made me a one man riot squad. But I realized years later that a two-fold
cord has more strength.
I realized
that besides partnership, there is a thing called mastermind. Benjamin Franklin
called it a Junto but Napoleon Hills called it in his classic book the master
mind alliance.
Master mind is a coordination of
knowledge and efforts of two or more people, who work towards a definite
purpose in the spirit of harmony’ - Napoleon Hills
If you
really wish to navigate through your challenges using collective intelligence,
then mastermind is your rescue.
Mastermind
is not collaboration, but mastermind helps you to collaborate. Mastermind
requires you to form a community of an exclusive inner cycle of people who are
problems solvers through brainstorming, accountability, feedback and sharing of
personal experiences.
Many ideas
are poorly thought out, because it’s a one man show. The new breed if educators
and or edupreneurs in Nigeria and globally must form masterminds, people you
might want to call inner cycle who will challenge your old and or new ideas,
give you clarity and focus your focus.
This is the
time to collaborate, but collaborate with masterminds.
